Roots and Branches – 2018 – 50 Years of The United Methodist Church

The Michigan Area United Methodist Church Historical Society is sponsoring “Roots and Branches – 2018 – 50 Years of the United Methodist Church” – a United Methodist History Convocation.

Saturday, April 7, at the Leighton United Methodist Church in Caledonia, MI. 

The event runs from 10 am – 3 pm; lunch is included. 

Key Note Speaker: Dr. Sarah Blair from United Theological Seminary speaking about Evangelical United Brethren Roots in Michigan.

A presentation on the history of Leighton United Methodist Church – a former EUB church.

A presentation on the significance of the Central Jurisdiction dismantling and uniting.

Workshop by the Albion Archivist on his work & help local church historians.

Certificates to be presented to churches 150 years old or older.

Those churches 175 years and above who received certificates in 2017 will not receive one this year.

Any church celebrating 175 years or 200 years in 2018 will receive a certificate when they apply for it.
