This all-day, reasonably priced teaching conference is designed to help pastors and church leaders get started and continue transitioning their congregation through change.

Clinicians

Reverend Dr. Bufford Coe has been the pastor of Vicksburg United Methodist Church for fifteen years.  He has served as pastor of churches in the Detroit, New England, and West Michigan Conferences since 1977.  He has a Bachelor of Music degree from Michigan State University, a Master of Arts in Church Music and a Master of Divinity degree from the Methodist Theological School in Ohio, and a Doctor of Theology degree in worship and church history from Boston University.  He is the president of the West Michigan chapter of the Fellowship.  The material he is presenting today is extracted from the lectures he prepared for a graduate course he taught at Pfeiffer University in North Carolina in the fall of 2000.

 

 Dr. Matthew J. Packer is currently serving as Choir and Handbell director at Flushing UMC in Flushing, is the Choral Director at Mott Community College in Flint, director of the Flint Male Chorus, Music Director for Swartz Creek Center Stage Community Theater, and singer and pianist with the duo, Brother 2 Brother. Previous positions include Farwell, Flint: Central, Clare, Fenton, and Flint: Trinity UMCs. Matt has been a church musician since 1983. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Music Education. And a Doctor of Worship Studies degree from the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies in Orange Park, Florida. His Diaconal Studies in the 1990’s at the Methodist Theological School in Ohio led to  his Deacon Certification in 2012. Matt has led workshops for FUMMWA, and Tools for Ministry in the Crossroads District, and led Adult Choir Retreats at Lake Huron Retreat Center and Lake Louise Christian Campground.  He is happily married to Kristi and proud father to Janelle, Ellie, Abbie, and Matthew.

Join Rev.
