Every day there seems to be a new issue in the surrounding culture that demands a response from Christians. If pastors ignore these issues, they risk becoming irrelevant and, if they use only a few isolated biblical verses, they risk being superficial. This preaching workshop will present strategies to help pastors read the Bible in ways that address these issues more comprehensively. Together, we will apply these strategies to constructively engage four controversial issues:
- Gender and Sexuality
- Systemic Violence
Diverse gifts strengthen the Body of Christ, helping us become local agents for community development and reconciliation. Explore how multicultural ministry can take your church community to the next level. Whether you yearn to take the next step in reaching out to a community that is different from the people who sit in the pews on Sunday, or are already engaged in multicultural, multi-class ministry and desire for it to grow deeper, this experience is for you!
This experiential training will focus on:
- Embracing Diversity
- Building Relationships Deep & Wide
- Creating a Racially Diverse/Income Diverse Congregation
- Diverse and Welcoming Worship to Strengthen Your Community
- Launching Outreach Programs that Use Local Assets to Address Community Concerns
